Meet the Artist – Penny Rumble Studio Shoot

We recently visited Penzance-based artist Penny Rumble in her lovingly renovated Cornish farm dwelling and outhouses-turned-workshops to capture some photographs for an upcoming book launch and a revamp of her website. 

Penny’s home and studio is just a mile or so from the shores of Mount’s Bay and she’s an avid sea swimmer, plunging into the Atlantic most days, in all weathers. Therefore, it’s no surprise that much of her work involves seascapes that place the viewer firmly in the sea itself and are painted from the perspective of a swimmer. 

Penny’s work is absorbing and exhilarating – you can almost feel the salty spray when you’re in front of one of her canvases! She’s launching a new book Walking with Dave in April 2024 and we’ve not only captured some photography for the launch, but also supported Penny to re-style her website.
