The producers of Truro Farmers Market are thrilled to have been selected as finalists in the Cornwall Life Food and Drink Awards 2014 in the ‘Best Farmers’ Market’ category.
“The awards are designed to champion the great and the good of our regions food and drink industry, from local producers and suppliers, small farming businesses, chefs, restaurants, pubs, hoteliers and people who care about the countryside and the future of our local environment,” say the magazine.
For this award, the judges picked finalists with well-presented stalls and good layout, friendly producers and plenty of opportunities to sample products. They were also looking out for an entertainment offering but more importantly “whether it has built upon the needs of consumers and capitalised on the diversity of the region’s local food and drink supply chain.”
Truro is up against stiff competition, as farmers markets are both numerous and popular amoungst Cornwall’s food-loving visitors and discerning population.
