Celebrate Real Local Food at the Big Produce Market
For a taste of Cornwall that the whole family can enjoy, head to the Big Produce Market on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th August. Lemon Quay in the centre of Truro will come alive from 9am to 4pm each day with the sights, sounds and smells of a vibrant street market, hosted by some of Cornwall’s most exciting food and drink pioneers.
Over 50 local, independent producers will come together for this seasonal celebration, where you can browse, sample and buy some of the freshest ingredients available. Choose from fish and crab caught off the county’s coast to rarebreed pork and organic beef farmed within 10 miles of the market itself, as well as locally brewed cider, wild game from nearby Estates, freshly baked bread and cakes, preserves and relishes made using traditional recipes, fresh fruit and vegetables grown in nearby fields as well as colourful plants and flowers from local nurseries.
For added inspiration to turn the tasty treats available at the market stalls into stunning dishes, leading local chefs will be on hand. Cooking demonstrations from some of the most exciting talent in the region will run throughout both days so you can experience what the experts can do with the local produce available at the Big Produce Market.
Live local music, face painting and a variety of street food vendors from across the region add to the carnival feel of the Big Produce Market, ensuring there is something to satisfy everyone’s appetite.
Come and end the summer in culinary style!
