Beach-Side Bar Launched With Signature Ale

Ben Tunnicliffe Sennen Cove – a restaurant and events venue which enjoys a spectacular location overlooking the beach at Sennen – is about to unveil a new outdoor bar in time for the summer season.

The launch coincides with the release of Head Launcher, an exclusive ale produced for the restaurant by Skinner’s Brewery.

The Surf Den is a relaxed spot for beach-lovers and wave-chasers, who can enjoy a thirst-quenching drink, chilled DJ sets and freshly baked pizzas – making it the perfect spot to refuel after a day enjoying Cornish beach life.

Chef and restauranteur Ben Tunnicliffe said: “We’ve been in residence here at Sennen for three years, and we’re thrilled to put our stamp on this amazing spot with the work we’ve done on the terrace, adapting it to create a new dedicated outside bar. It’s a blissful space to lose yourself in for a few hours – you could be in Bali or Australia rather than the UK!”

Signature ale Head Launcher has been crafted exclusively for the unique setting of Ben Tunnicliffe Sennen Cove and the Surf Den; described as a session beer, the pale ale has a strong malty flavour balanced by floral hops, and a refreshing finish.

Stuart Hughes, Sales Manager at Skinner’s Brewery, commented: “In honour of this unique venue, we wanted to create the perfect ale for sundowners after a day at the beach. As a pale ale, Head Launcher is great with or without food, and best enjoyed while taking in the stunning views of Sennen Cove from the restaurant terrace.”

The name Head Launcher is derived from Sennen Cove’s lifeboat controller, who oversees the launch and recovery of the life-saving vessel which is so important to the local community.

The Surf Den will be officially opened on Saturday 29th April – the launch event is open to the public from 5pm.
